What do we collect

If you are just visiting the website we do not collect your personally identifiable information. We do however use website tracking which can see some personal data (1).

If you are registering your interest for new products via the website we will collect your personally identifiable information (2)

Through tracking we can see:

  • IP Addresses
  • Country / City of origin
  • Browser (Google Chrome / Safari, etc)
  • Internet Provider (Virgin media etc)
  • Device type - (Mobile, Tablet, Desktop)
  • Operating System (Mac OS 10.13.1, etc)

Through these details alone we would not be able to identify who you are and we take extra steps to make these details as unlinked to you as possible.

Extra steps:

  • Scramble IP Addresses / make them unreadable.
  • Only collect Country /City of origin never specific addresses.

Why do we collect it?

We track activity on our website to create a better experience for you, our website visitors. We want to make sure you can find everything you need and have all the information to fully understand Zego and our products.

What we do with it and for how long

We don’t share this data with anyone else and the data deletes every 30 days.

Your rights

Just to be clear - none of the information we collect can be traced back to you. For instance - we would know that a person visiting the website was:

  • From London
  • Clicked on three pages on the website
  • Used a mobile phone to do it
  • On internet provided by Virgin Media
  • On the website right at this moment in time

But, we would never know who that person is, how to find them or how to contact them.

If you are not happy sharing this information with us through the tools we use, you are free to opt out by visiting their websites.

2. Registering your interest

What data do we collect and how do we collect it?

We collect your name, contact details and sometimes the companies you work with through our web based forms when you register your interest for a new product.

Is it legal?

We collect this information under the lawful basis of consent.

  • Consent - In these cases it is your decision whether or not we process the data in that way and you are able to change your mind at any time.

When we collect the information we will contact you directly in relation to the information you registered interest in unless you request for us to also contact you in other situations.

There will also be an opt in button for marketing. You can opt out of marketing at any time by calling 020 3308 9800 or e-mailing [email protected]

Does anybody else get the data and where is it?

Most of our services are in the EU. We have safeguards in place including contractual clauses to ensure where the data is processed outside of the EU the company meets the standards as required by the EU and UK law.

Personal information of others

If you give us information about another person (for example a family member or a client), it is your responsibility to ensure and confirm that:

  • you have told the individual who Zego is and how we use personal information (as set out in this Privacy Notice); and
  • you have permission from this individual to provide their personal information (including any sensitive personal data) to us and for us to process it, as set out in this Privacy Notice.

How long do we keep it for?

We will keep this information for up to a year if you register your interest and do not become a customer. Unless you remove your consent in which case we will delete it within 1 month.

    We ask for your consent to contact you about things that are not directly to do with your current contract with us. For marketing, for offers and maybe in the future for new things. When we ask you consent you can at any time change your mind.
